Long-range Desert reconnaissance Group
Applying lessons learned and applied by Lord Horatio Herbert Kitchener, and later by T.E. Lawrence, better know as Lawrence of Arabia, lead to the formation of the Long-range Desert reconnaissance Group, officially as Long Range Patrol (LRP), but better known as the Long Range Desert Group (LRDG), never number more than 350 men, all volunteers, they conducted long range penetration, covert reconnaissance patrols and intelligence missions in to enemy territory in the early days of W.W.II, in North Africa.
