The Return of Venice
Staying for the evening at the villa of Conte T., Conte B. perused the gallery of his most illustrious host. Conte B. noted a rather large framed painting of his own palazzo on the Grand Canal of Venice, a city that had seemed to slip from his memory, so far from the Duce Renier's sway. He stepped closer slowly and spied the little masked man whose gondola glided as though on a sea of glass to the iron gate, ...the man with the unicorn mask. The paint shifted and the little man turned to Conte B. and grinned. Conte B. whispered to himself, "La Serenissima Ritorna."
Great!
