This article is being written to settle the curiosities and perhaps

answer some questions that all may have regarding the

Kingdom of Great Britain in Antiquity.

Great Britain had come to Antiquity in a re-enactment of

actual battles that occurred in 1799 with that battle and later

British occupation concluded the Knights of Malta

on the High Seas.

King George III's reign in Great Britain was the then longest

in the Monarchy's history to date, spanning 60 years (1760-1820).

That single fact meant that Great Britain

as an active role-playing country would be able to interact with

ALL of the antiquity communities, rivals and allies while remaining

reasonable true to History. The thoughts began for the segue from

Malta to Great Britain... expansion plans were parlayed to available

sims within the region. None of this change was done without quite

a lot of planning both in groundwork and in the

potential/possibilities it opened for role-play.

Whereas Malta had the potential of interacting via merchant trade

with all of the sims and community members, not all

had aspirations of actively participating in the trade system.

The question arose: "When you visit Malta, how much do you

know about it?" Very few even know the name Malta

let alone it's history. In contrast, the next question arose:

"If you were to visit Great Britain, how much might you

know about it?" and before you were even finished asking,

those being questioned already had answers. Everyone knows

of Great Britain, it's Monarchy, it's Royal Fleet on the waters and

it's history in at least some regard ... all without the need for

having to do some research for information.

Westminster houses a recreation of Buckingham House circa 1780.

The King was created in second Life (GeorgeWilliam Westminster)

and Buckingham, as in First Life, is to house His Majesty and His

familys a private residence. (For those with interest, the house

purchased by George III and in 1837 George IV began renovations

on the original house, creating what we know today as Buckingham

Palace). This sim also has residences to complete it's English

Countryside appeal.

Antiquity Marlborough is also going to be maintained as residential.

Both Marlborough and Westminster are entirely land sims as

English country side, leaving the planned residential

expansion of the landmass outward within the coming months.

Portsmouth is as the First Life Portsmouth, a sea-port community

housing bank, church, tavern and foreign house where all

community members are encouraged to explore and interact.

Trade role-play is rooted in this sim with the bank dispensing

the completely new trade coin system for Antiquity and the

Shoppes offer merchants a place to set and trade or sell their wares.

The British Royal Navy in Antiquity has allied with the RAN to

complete its fleet, finalizing it's structure in support of the Antiquity

Royalty. Alliances have been formed with The Duke and Duchess

of New Brunswick as well as with the Duchess of Britannica,

integrating them into the Antiquity Community as an extension

of Great Britain under rule of Dukedoms with

plans for a sixth sim in the coming months.

The British sims are happy to announce that they are complete and

ready. We look forward to what thefuture set in the past has in store.
