Versailles seems to be deserted these days.......that allowed us to see the chapel from the Balustrade....it is a sacred view from above....fascinating......
According tocourt etiquette, the King, Queen, and Royal Family would hear mass from the tribune, or balcony, in the back of the Chapel. Also, all ladies who had been presented at court could hear mass from the galleries on either side of the Chapel. Unfortunately, Men and all other courtiers would sit in the nave (but you can probably sneak up there once, M. Gandt.)
From the official Versailles website:
'"Each day, generally at 10 a.m., the Court would attend the kings mass. The king would sit in the royal gallery, surrounded by his family. The ladies of the Court occupied the side galleries. The officers and the public sat in the nave."'
The clergy plans to implement this seating arrangement at Versailles in SL. I will be working on the sound before our next mass so that everyone seated in the chapel, including those outside of chat range, will be able to hear mass.
