The residents of Rocca Sorrentina gather together to reunite with loved ones long gone in a Seance mediated by a mysterious moorish woman wearing a veiled headpiece. The night yielded many prayers on the parts of the residents as they petitioned protection from the Almighty. Nobody was left empty handed, as the entire room was visited by many spirits throughout the night. It was hard to tell whether the whole thing was a hoax though... as there was a machine in the corner of the room, manned by a silent man, who explained nothing of the machine's functions. The machine seemed to project images on cue. On the other hand, however, the Medium seemed to know a lot of accurate obscure information about those who passed on...information that even she herself couldn't have known........To me, the whole thing remains open for discussion.
Ah, but my dear Captain Zeffirelli, you must have missed hearing my explanation of the machine. My brother Hasan operated the apparatus which my late husband and I learned of from Herr Schropfer himself, the German inventor. Its function is threefold: it invites the spirits, creates a melieu in which they feel safe and comfortable, and at the same time protects us, the living from any spirits who may wish to return to life by possessing us. Hasan is very skillful with the machine, which explains why so many spirits appeared, and why we all escaped safely from the encounter.
