Pet-en-L'air
The pet en l’air is a jacket that is basically just a short version of the sack dress. This type of garment was called a casaquin from the early part of the 18th century until about the 1740s. The length of this garment was originally to the knee, and shortened gradually as the century progressed until the skirt of it resembled what we would call a peplum around 1780.
