The Royal Court of Bohemia and Hungary proudly presents, Annas House .

Built by Ferdinand I in 1538 for his wife Anna Jagellonica, Queen of Bohemia and Hungary, this beautiful renaissance structure and its flowing gardens has been considered the purest Wallachian Renaissance architecture located on another territory other than Italy. The palace owes its existence to Italian builder and stonemason, Paolo della Stella.

In front of the building is an Italian style garden with a fountain in its center. The fountain which was built in 1568 is known as the singing fountain. If you stand directly under the bowl, the drops of water making a singing sound .

One can see on the pillars and walls many reliefs which illustrate mythological scenes, hunting and wars. If you look carefully you can see the character of the original founder, Ferdinand I who is wearing on his chest the order of the Golden Fleece. According to the illustration, he is giving a fig flower to his wife Queen Anne.

The unique copper roof which has the shape of an inverted ships keel will draw the eye of the beholder instantly. Originally it was decorated with red and white stripes and painted symbols of the Czech Kingdom.

The Royal Summer Palace, or as it is better know the Belvedere was built for courtly entertainment and its gardens a pleasant stay for all.
