We had a bal! Here, Madame Royale is lording it over us all from a fauteuil with the fabulous widow of the Prince de Carpegne (such a nice chap - funny, attractive, terribly stylish of course, what a pity he is no longer with us...). As you can see, there are still cakes - so she hadn't made it across the room yet.
