The Man Who Would Be King
HRH, Louis-Stanislas-Xavier, the comte de Provence, hosts a salon in the Grand Cabinet de Dauphin. The topic, "The Man Who Would Be King" briefly detailed the lives of the men (and babies) who held the title of Dauphin of France (or who were otherwise the heir-presumptive), and who never lived to rule the country. In the picture, Monsieur had begun discussing the life of the longest-lived heir, the Grand Dauphin. The Comte and Comtesse would like to thank everyone for their attendance!
Seems interesting Will there be a similar discussion on Dauphine-s perhaps?
There are some interesting histories there...
Mary Queen of Scots
Marie Adlade of Savoy
Infanta Maria Teresa Rafaela of Spain
Sophia, I had twenty-seven names to mention, so we only touched on the most notorious brides and suitors. Probably the one who got the most mention was Elizabeth I, whose courtship of Francis, Duke of Anjou.
Thats why I implied it was in the future...
Ooops! Apologies ... I have a horrible habit of reading half a sentence and making an assumption. That is a good idea, though, so I'll keep it in mind. Thanks
