Fortunes Made and Lost
At the Jeux de la Dauphine, fortunes were indeed made and lost, as the courtiers gathered. At my table, I was joined by his Royal Highness the Comte de Provence, the Comtesse de Chatellerau, and the Baronesse de Garde and his Excellency, Abbe. On lookers included Mlle de Fraisac, Mlle de Louvigny, and Mlle Chiverny.
First Round, Wager 100 sous
The Comtesse won 100 sous, from Me.
Round Two, Wager 200 sous
His Royal Highness won 200 sous each from myself and the Comtesse. The Mlle de Louvigny placed a bet that His Royal Highness would win. In the end His Royal Highness gave her his winnings of 600 sous.
Round Three, Wager 1000 sous
The Comtesse won 1000 sous each from myself and His Royal Highness. She won a total of 2000 sous.
I think the Barnesse de Garde and Abbe did the right thing by sitting out, for now I go home 1300 sous less.
(( To get an idea of how much that is in RP, our RP bread is 6 sous ))

I have to admit it was nice to win and even nice to get sous in the end
I doubt he faked losing. I am a skilled card player so anything I won was by skill alone.
