A comparison of the site from 2004 to a 1757 survey; the location of the oval fountain basin is clearly discernible, as well as the garden perimeter. Parts of the original terrace can also be spotted at the bottom of the photograph; this fragment of wall, topped with original ironwork railing, is a protected historic site in France, even though so little truly remains.
