A player selects their role during registration and may change it at any time by using the following chat commands:

First remove the current role by using:

Then add the new role by using and selecting for the provided list:

AoR Roles (in alphabetical order):

ADVENTURER:

• Added in November 2026 this is a new role created for the Crimson Rose Quest
• Those who seek out dangerous, unusual, or exciting experiences like Quests

 

ARTISAN:

• Butcher, Baker, Blacksmith, Vintner, Brewer, etc.
• Uses Crafters to produce final products from ingredients

 

ARTIST:

• Fine Arts & Performing arts
• Has access to various objects related to their (ex. musical instruments)
• Has access to various crafters related to their profession (ex. easel)
• May provide extra beneficial interaction with other characters (Social)
• May generate income via Tip Jars, Patrons etc.

 

BUREAUCRAT:

• Judge, Government Official

 

CLERGY:

• Priest, Nun, Monk, etc.
• Has access to various objects related to their profession (ex. pulpit, altar)
• May provide extra beneficial interaction with other characters (Health, Social)

 

HEALER:

• Healer, Wise Woman, Midwife, Doctor, Surgeon, etc.
• Uses crafters to produce final products (medicine) from ingredients
• May provide beneficial interaction with other users (Health)

 

LABOURER:

• Farmer, Miner, etc.
• Uses harvesters to provide raw goods

 

MILITARY:

• Included for completeness as AoR will not have a combat component but may have users that want to identify their character with the military

 

PATRICIAN:

• Includes community organizers, community volunteers, event hosts
• Perfect for members of the nobility or rich bourgeoise that enjoy dedicating their time to hosting & attending events
• Has access to various objects related to their social gatherings (ex. guest book)
• May provide extra beneficial interaction with other characters (Social)

 

PROFESSIONAL:

• Merchant, Banker, Lawyer, Teacher, Professor, etc.
• Has access to various objects related to their profession (ex. bank ledger, lectern)
• May provide extra beneficial interaction with other characters (Social)

 

SERVANT:

• Including domestic servants such as maids, butlers etc.

 

UNDECIDED:

• Player has not yet picked a role.  This is the default value for new players.
