Ernst and I were having a disscussion last night about fencing styles and the stance that is used in the 18th century with the smallsword, and we had to look at this video clip again. It is from a "Royal Armories" documentary about 18th century swordplay, dealing with one of the greatest sword-masters of that time Domenico Angelo. Notice how he does not move his feet, while the student has footwork all over the place. It is almost comical when they show you the fight from above, 3/4 view. But the best part is the last line, a quote from Angelo himself.
