This Chart shows the Watertreatments after Pfarrer Sebastian Kneipp who became quite famous in the 1890's in Europe for his Hydrotherapy. The First Picture shows the Knee Treatment, where cold and hot water was splashed alternately on the legs to the Knee. The next picture shows the head treatment, with cold water. the big picture shows the barefoot walking in the morning dew grass.
Kneipp's clients also included Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria and his father, Archduke Karl Ludwig as well as Pope Leo XIII.

How interesting. You couldn't pay me enough to have cold water poured on my head but walking barefoot through the morning dew sounds lovely
LoL the cold water over the head would not be my favourite too .... But the patients with migrane felt a relief ....
