Mesh & 64m Prims Are Here!!

General Discussion

Awww ... thanks!!

Mega prims always scared me, especially after the debacle where LL went and deleted a bunch of them out of the blue. I used them sparingly to save on prims which was ok for smaller builds. I just couldn't stand the thought of piecing together the Petit Trianon and then waking up one day to find it had disappeared.

My hat is off to the builders of Versailles who keep tackling a much larger build and are willing to revise it when necessary.

I had a lot of fun building for TheSims2 and it taught me a lot about 3D building including the factthat mesh has a reallybig learning curve - lol.

Mesh & 64m Prims Are Here!!

General Discussion

Hello Everyone

I'm very excited that Mesh & 64m Prims which started rolling out yesterday should be grid wide today!!

I've been waiting impatiently for those larger prims and have put off some of my building projects in anticipation. I always found wrestling with the old mega prims to be an exercise in frustration - trying to piece them together to save prims and yet follow a realistic design - ugh.

Now I can get back to the Petit Trianon and the Queen's Hamlet. Woohoo!!

As far as mesh goes, I think I will wait a bit before jumping in. I've made mesh objects before for TheSims2 and so I know that it's not trivial. I would also like to see how the prim cost assigned to a mesh works out.

So what about you? What are your plans with these new building tools?

Dating with lady death on 1793

I'm guessing that part of the magic of SL Versailles is that it will never actually venture into the Revolution. I know that's certainly the case with the Duch de Coeur. If so, you and your family are safe as long as you live in the "present" and don't worry about the "future" ;)

Just finished The Martian by Andy Weir.

It's kind of like MacGyver in space with the hero having to do a lot of problem solving in order to survive his unexpected, extended stay on Mars. Since I'm big on problem solving, I enjoyed it quite a bit!

Thanks for all the recent replies. Now I can round out my summer reading list!

I have read Catherine the Great: Portrait of a Woman a couple of times & I agree that it's excellent.

AnytimeI hear "quantum multiverse" I tend to start breaking out in hives. Fascinating material that always makes me feel rather dimwitted. I think I'll be brave & give them a look, Tiamat.

I can see why your free time could be rather restrained by reading 10 to 15 books at a time, Curtis. I thought I was being adventurous when I had 2 on the go!

Sounds like it would make a great winter read as well.

We've had a few series run in our local paper of people that have hiked different trails around the world and the journey is always fascinating (except for the parts about the huge blisters & the inevitable hallucinations - lol).
