QH Job Offerings

QH Resources & Guides

In the spirit of our co-operative, the Queen's Hamlet is now offering a number of jobs that can be performed using the Antiquity Crafting System (ACS).  Not only will workers receive experience points (xp) and coins from performing these jobs but they will also share in the proceeds.

The bread, eggs, and dairy products will be distributed free of charge to all QH workers who participate.  As they become available, you will find these items located in the refurbished Dairy .  As we've always done well as a group on the honour system it is believed that this distribution should work quite well.  Basically, if you've contributed something feel free to take an equal number of items for your own use.

It is hoped that as ACS and our usage of it matures we will add more jobs and also enhance these initial ones.  We're going to try to distribute the workload while taking into account that people may want to switch/swap jobs depending on current interests.

Let's see how it goes and we'll adjust as we go along.  Most of all have fun!

QH Getting Started with ACS

QH Resources & Guides

Rest assured that the QH is up for the challenge, Jacon!  We're definitely a hardy bunch.  I'm really looking forward to gathering those herbs.  Might even try some of that brandy, as soon as I can afford it.

Thank you, Louis for all this fun!

It's true, I left out the pirates on purpose.  Didn't want to be corrupting the good farmers of the QH with dreams of Spanish treasure ;)

Bessie Hull:

The slurls were exactly what I needed! I now have my own bag of wheat seeds and two fields ready to harvest in two days.

Excellent!  You'll be baking bread in no time :)

QH Getting Started with ACS

QH Resources & Guides

TatianaDokuchicFarming for Fortune 06L.png

This Getting Started guide is intended as a quick introduction to the Antiquity Crafting System (ACS) for the Queen's Hamlet Co-op.  It may also be helpful for anyone starting ACS at level 1 that intends to be a farmer.

Please note that my experience is limited so my strategy is still evolving.  And speaking of evolving, ACS is in its early days and changing at a lovely pace.  This means that suggestions that work today might not work tomorrow so I'll try to keep updating as we go along

ACS is challenging!  Starting at level 1 with limited funds and resources means that you are in survival mode.  As Una pointed out, we're back to our early G&S days of eating fish in the morning, noon, and night. Thankfully with community support and an initial loan we can not only survive but thrive.

First Steps:

  • Check out the ACS Starter Guide
  • Head to the Antiquity RP Help Centre to get your HUD
  • Select your Class (Noble or Townsfolk)
  • Select your first Profession (Peasant which may give you bonus experience points (xp) and coins for farming)
  • Head to the Bank in Antiquity Bath to get your weekly allowance - do this every Thursday
  • While you're in Bath fill your pockets with any edible apples you can find - free food!

At this point you have two choices.  It is highly recommended that you sign up for a QH Job (see QH Job Offerings ) or you can decide to go it alone in which case you should

  • Head to the Harvest Traders in Mont Saint Bruno (turn left at the sketchy guy standing at the corner) and purchase wheat seeds for 10c
  • Head to the Antiquity Public Farm and haul some water from the well
  • Find a vacant wheat field and plant it - it will be ready for harvest in 48 hours
  • If you can't find a vacant wheat field and/or you would like another wheat field head to Louis' Worker Fields

Whew! You're on your way :)

Meet Adam the Trader Merchant.  I had big plans for Adam; we were going to be best buddies, he was going to help me on my path to riches.

I scoped him out from afar and he seemed like a nice enough fellow, maybe a little dour looking but I've seen worse.  My plan was to lay on the charm so for on our first meeting I brought him an orange.  He scowled and refused to take it.  Apparently he cannot be bribed by edible items.

Returning the next day with a basket of oranges, I smiled as I gently placed the basket in front of him and politely requested to sell them.  He ignored me.  I poked him in the chest. He shifted his gaze away from me.  I pushed him only to find him rock-solid in his stance and still unwilling to barter.

Enough was enough! I reported him to management!

Returning the next day he informed me he was "Out of service for now" and so he remains.  Good help is so hard to find!

I'm happily stockpiling fruits and vegetables while Adam is being re-programmed.  I plan to hire a huge cart to haul my produce to him on his first day back at work.

Au revoir, Adam.  I'll be back!

Sipping my morning coffee, happy at the reports that the looting of farms has stopped for now.  Must have been Louis patrols that spooked them off.

Yes!  Louis and his patrols are most efficient.  An educated peasantry who understand their boundaries also helps ;)

Thank you for the congratulations, I'm personally having a lot of fun and plan to drag as many farmers from the QH as I can into this adventure.  Some like Bessie (Satoharu) are taking advantage of my early failures.

Speaking of mistakes,I'm sure your job is safe for now Jacon but you're always welcome in the QH.  Be warned, we eat a LOT of bread & apples.

QH Welcomes the Antiquity Crafting System (ACS)

QH Discussions

As professions are going to be released soon I mean to study the healing arts, potions, remedies, and such.  Guess I'll be calling myself a doctor instead of a wise woman.  On the bright side, I'm hoping there are fewer people running after me yelling "burn her, she's a witch!" as it's very distracting.

Skye Varriale:

Is it me or does Mikhail bear a striking resemblance to that Scottish lad...Jamie.  Relations perhaps?

If you're referring to JAMMF … could well be … nothing like a good Scottish lad to help around the farm ;)

A quick look at our statistics after the first week.

Tatiana:

  • Date: May 24, 2019
  • Class:Noble
  • Level: 3
  • Funds: 10s 70c

Mikhail:

  • Date: May 24, 2019
  • Class: Townsfolk
  • Level: 1
  • Funds: 60c

I've spent 60s on trees (orange, lemon, pear & tea), 18s on vegetables , 2s on seeds, 1s on grinding tea and a bit more on an orange tea recipe.  At level three my weekly income has increased to 1s 50c.  Mikhail has managed to save all of his weekly income.  I had hoped to be generating further funds from trading with Adam the Merchant but alas, somehow I managed to insult him on our first meeting and he refuses to accept my goods.  A complaint to his management has been lodged!

We've been eating a lot of bread but will be upgrading our cooking skills shortly in order to diversify our menu.  We have a nice assortment of fruits and vegetables just waiting to be turned into delicious meals.

I've gained most of my experience through harvesting though I did enjoy one social gathering which gave me a nice experience point (xp) bump to start out with.

Mikhail has been working hard grinding wheat, baking bread, drying tea leaves and distilling oranges & lemons.  However, because he tried to accomplish his tasks in short sessions, he really didn't benefit fully when it came to xps. He's been taking a more leisurely approach in the last few days and benefiting from that.

We're both trying to work smarter not harder :)
