Galleria e Terrazza di Carbognano - The Women of Italian Renaissance Art

Communty News & Events

Why is so little known about women artists in history? Sure, women were not trained to be artists, women were not encouraged to take up art as a profession and women were subjugated to the role of mother and homemaker. But despite this, there were many famous artists as early as the sixteenth century, however it seems they had poor publicity and few historians have made note of these women of art. We think its time to redress this issue and highlight three of the fabulous Italian Renaissance artists.

Giulia, Pricipessa of Carbognano, guardian to it's Noble families, and covenant to the seven principles of it's Church wishes to announce a call to artists wishing to share their love and expressions of the Renaissance period for our July exhibit in the Galleria. Interested artisans are encouraged to present their ambitions to the Pricipessa Giulia Farnese.

"Absurd, creative and debauched: ten years later, "Second Life" is still alive "

Bloggers' Corner

I think that Second Life will always thrive because of it's "user created" environment. Certainly Second Life is not anything near what it was when many of us first started, and the majority of the changes we have seen over the years have been driven by it's users and creators. Thumbs up vote for Linden Labs for being responsive to our needs and allowing the platform to evolve despite the costs of evolving. They very easily could have built it and let it be a money cow for a few years and then fade away like much gaming world does. Regardless of it's future platform, I really believe the SL we all know now will continue to thrive for some time.
