Historical RP/Sim : How to get new people and retain existing

General Discussion

Pamus, when I was RP'ing in another context where SL heights were enforced, I made myself a 5'3 shape - very convenient when I land somewhere with doorframes that endanger my 6'8 Antiquity skull.

RL:SL Size Ratios - What are Your Building Methods?

General Discussion

So few SL communities pay attention to "standard" SL avatar sizes that I sometimes wish SL would just recalibrate to compensate...making those of us who've made ourselves close to seven feet tall in order not to be looking at everyone else's knees 5'6 as originally intended! On the other hand, that would waste a good deal of careful calibration carried out by the painstaking minority who have paid attention to the official scaling when creating complex and highly detailed builds.

I would be interested in SL's response to a request to change the default camera angle, which I agree is dreadful and a contributor to all the double-height doors and triple-height ceilings.

Managing a Historical RP Economy

General Discussion

Fortunately my consumption of apples has more to do with the trees Lord Rochefort has placed on my property than with any possibility of being with child. I await progress on the matter of sheep and mutton.

Historical RP/Sim : How to get new people and retain existing

General Discussion

I don't know - I  rather enjoy a good tea-party, at which the politics of the day may be dissected in the most personally prejudiced manners possible - but recalling at all times that we speak in character from our RP positionings, not in the personae of our various RL typists!

Historical RP: What's your daily diet?

General Discussion

Apropos of Beatrix's steam pudding, we have found the matter of baking powder's inconvenient predecessors quite interesting!

Historical RP: What's your daily diet?

General Discussion

Well - mostly apples on the run for me, thanks to the fruit trees my lord of Rochefort has been sprinking around the Antiquity sims. However, we are integrating prepared banquets into the social schedule, influenced by historical cookbooks and perhaps by Patrick O'Brian (I believe Beatrix Muircastle will shortly achieve a creditable Spotted Dick.)

Managing a Historical RP Economy

General Discussion

I must admit that I am not a great fan of inworld economies - I come to SL to escape from things like worrying about what to do about supper! However, I do seem to be eating apples at a great rate as I go about my evening rounds which means the new HUD system is addressing consumption issues, and am enjoying encounters with community members while solving my hygiene and health issues at the Baths.

'Victoria' Is About To Become Your Biggest Non-Guilty Pleasure

History

Also interesting is the article about Lord Palmerston attached to Feodora's! Actually, I have just managed to waste a good half-hour, following the links on that site.

Game of Thrones ~ A Song of Ice and Fire

Book Lovers

Apparently George Martin has ceded his role as novelist to the demands of the TV series, yes.

'Victoria' Is About To Become Your Biggest Non-Guilty Pleasure

History

A little disappointed by the characterization of Victoria's older half-sister so far. In life, apparently the relationship was one of genuine fondness on both sides.
