En Garde for DECADES Fest & Ball - Need a wizard....

General Discussion

We have a piste...but we need somebody who would like to spend some time on the date of the festival showing people the finer points of sword play and helping to get people out there fencing. And if there is someone who would like to come and make the piste lane pretty and disguise the ugly "En Garde" signage the way I have seen it done in Rocca Sorrentina, that would be a bonus.

Here's the spot . . . right next to Luc's "Sea Witch" ....perfect placement!

(Two lanes would be even better if someone has a spare En Garde they would rez for the day of the event -- June 27)

An Edwardian Lady's Dress Code

Communty News & Events

I love this. To this day, my grandmother (about to be 94 years old) quips, "A lady must never glitter during the daylight." The only diamonds she has ever worn during the day is her engagement ring. And then there was (and still is for some of us, I confess) the "Rule of Seven" concerning the number of "ornaments" a lady is allowed to her costume.

Some Thoughts on Alternative Gids

General Discussion

Curtis' post makes excellent points. All the closed systems--CompuServe, The Source (Reader's Digest), DELPHI, etc., etc. have gone the way of the horse and buggy.

And it's always been the creativity and innovation of the amateurs (in the real sense of the word as Curtis has used it) that has pushed the envelope and provided the impetus. It was the "amateurs" back in the mid-80s who created the very first inter-system mail systems and got around the lack of universal domain addressing that brought the need and the possibilities to the attention of the "corporate players." And so it goes. What people create in today's historical sims is the best and most lasting legacy for the current generation of "VR" implementations.

The DECADES Festival and Ball is June 27, so we need it in place before then. If you fcan take it on, I will jump for joy. Will post a photo of the the spot where it goes with the accompanying artwork.
