Ludgate Queen Elizabeths's London

Communty News & Events

The building of Ludgate continues . These pictures show some London streets in the 1580's . The top image shows Black Friars lane , close to the London west wall formerly as the name suggests it was a religious house but latterly used as a theatre. The second image shows a view along Ludgate hill , St Pauls can just be glimpsed in the background . This is a work under construction but anyone is welcome to visit

Ludgate , update

Communty News & Events

Progress is now being made at Ludgate . I would welcome visitors to wander the Stews and Alleyways of London in the reign of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth.

Some of the building work is not complete but all are welcome to look .

Tudor London

Communty News & Events

After much effort I have finally figured out how to add this in the form of a discussion . This is a project I am working on . I hope to create a London street during the latter part of the reign of Elizabeth 1st. This is Ludgate, one of the oldest entrances to the city, one of the main thorough fares of the city of London. Ludgate leads from Fleet street to St. Paul's . I hope to recreate the bustle and everyday life of the Tudor city where Gentry rub shoulders with all society from Cut purses , to Jades , Merchants and Playwrights .It is only small at the moment but hopefully it will grow .
