Lady Sere looks a little worse for...
We all wondered a little at Lady Sere's smudged face and hands and feared she had an accident. She explained that she had been exploding gunpowder in the bonfires all over the island to clear the deadly miasma that might harbour the causes of yellow fever. Adding sulfur to the explosions may have helped this cleansing but it took a toll on poor Sere.
