Versailles - Building In Progress

So, as suggested to me by Tatiana, I have decided to post updates on Versailles on the Forum aswell! As I said in the group post, if you saw that, we now have two sims!! But now I have actually started building on them, lol. I've extended the Mesdames Apartments (Madame Adelaide now has some space, though I've noticed Victoire has claimed most of it anyway, haha) and the Dauphine's Apartments, so she no longer has half a bedroom.

Also, I would like to include the disastrous (Yet hilarious) events of the day! Which basically includes the Salon d'Ore catching on fire, but I then realised I'd lost my hat, so I went back to get it and got stuck, then there was a huge explosion so half the roof came crashing down, but it let the rain in, so it's ok. Once it was all over I realised my hat wasn't even in there in the first place. The builders have been working very hard and it now looks as good as new (Though I had a hard time looking for one of the tables, then MJ pointed out it was halfway accross the sim!). The Salon d'Ore will be moving shortly to it's correct place, and we need to find the correct decor - the mirror, rug, curtains and the ceiling, lol

Also we have textured-ish, lol, the Dauphin's Second Antichamber and the Apollo Salon, but it still needs finishing. I've also finished the primwork in the Dauphin's Library, but we have no textures yet, the Marble Courtyard is a bit bigger and I've finally added steps down to the Salle des Gardes from the Marble Courtyard, so no excuse for falling over now, haha

Thanks for this first update, Maria. I'm certainly looking forward to seeing more! It's wonderful to see the furniture paired with the appropriate walls :))I didn't know that building could be so dangerous, what with all the explosions etc. Sounds like it's best to keep your hat pinned firmly to your hair ;)

Time for a new update! Now that we have the new sim, I have finally decided to move the Salon d'Or, which I have inlcuded a picture of. It may look the same, which it is, lol, but it's in face a lot bigger and it faces south onto the courtyard instead of west. The Green Library will fill it's old space when we get textures

We've had the Queen's room partially done for a while, still need to find better textures and add a new railing, but this is what it looks like so far for anyone who might not have seen it

And finally, I would like to include a picture of the Dauphin's First Antichamber, with it's fabulous window, which I have just completed, and I mean just, lol. I made it out of loads of different window pieces, but i think it looks good

OH maria! lol you didnt even include some pics of the corps de logis and the hall of mirrors which are ALMOST done. (well since our main goal is to have it perfect its not entirely finished yet). so let me show you two nice pics of them too ;) the ceiling of the hall of mirrors which obviously is unsuitable will get changed and replaced by a high definition one soon.

well when i thought about building versailles in the past it always seemed to be impossible to me to have those very detailed column capitals too, versailles is full of them, full of details. i knew it would be very hard to capture them in sl. but i proved to be wrong: since the start of the 5 sims project versailles has been cooperating with leading sculpters in sl. we would like to present you the results of this cooperation :) today the column cpitals sculpts have arrived and maria and me quickly created some decent textues for them, now they are ready for use ;))

Yoohoo! It's been a long long time, but it's definitely time for another post. And a sneak peek at the work we've been doing ;)So, first of all, the new facade, which is a lot smaller than the old one, but it is to scale, and we will no longer look like dwarves ;)

And our revamped basins on the Parterre d'Eau

And the South side of the Chateau, which looks onto our new South Parterre

And our third and newest sim presents to you the South Parterre, the Orangerie is coming soon ;)

More to come soon ;)Kind Regards,MariaAntonia Barenhaut
