Rome - 1769

By Spike Clemenceau, 2010-05-06
I had finally found what I was looking for... I was practically ecstatic with joy. So with my accumulated knowledge and new condition, I decided to visit some friends and family I had in Rome. One Sunday morning, as I was taking a stroll I laid my eyes on the most stunning vision coming out of mass. No words can describe her really, I found her to be a vision, an angel with pitch black hair, beauty without comparison. The monuments in Rome paled in comparison.

I decided to follow her and her chaperone, awaiting my chance to approach her and start a casual conversation. As I made my way to carry out my task, she simply turned around, looked at me with a playful grin, whispered something to her chaperone and turned around. I will not bore you with the details, but after some proper courtship, we got married the very same year.

I must say that 1769 had been my year so far, a reward to all of my efforts, finding the answers I was looking for and meeting my soul mate, a woman with whom I could share all of my secrets, interests and knowledge in spite of being know by the name of Lorenza, "Boe" among her friends, would be known when joining the Magic Circle, as Serafina....

After a long, pleasant and enlightening stay in Greece, I decided to visit some more exotic destinations to enrich my knowledge of the occult and during my visit to some courts I came to the decision to use my skills to help people in dire need. I learned than in some countries, people felt the need to turn to religion first... which made helping them quite a task. I found fascinating how some would not listen to an expert's advice, as some of the most common problems could be easily solved with a good sance or a simple potion.

I managed to perfect some recipes, but the secret to youth and immortality seemed to avoid me, despite my best efforts. I decided to return to Italy in 1768, Naples to be precise, to attend to some pressing businesses which came to my attention. Thus being solved, I decided to continue exploring Europe this time, when in 1769 I arrived at a beautiful city named Phoenix (its precise location I have sworn not to divulge). I quickly got acquainted with the locals and while at a social I was invited to, I met the his grace, The Imperator Corbin Aldrin, who would put an end to my search for youth and immortality.

After some stimulating conversation, Monsieur Aldrin requested my presence in his offices, where I was invited to the Magic circle, a society where only a chosen few were asked to join, to later be revealed the secret of immortality and eternal youth, much to my surprise and satisfaction I must say, since I did not expect to find the answers I was looking for in such a place.

Greece - Winter 1763

By Spike Clemenceau, 2010-05-05
After exhausting all sources and compiling as much information on Egyptian religious rites, I decided that my next destination would be Greece, which was not only conveniently close, but which also had been at some point the center of the ancient world, I was anxious to study the ancient scrolls which remained from the Library of Alexandria. True, there were not many left, but I hoped that the few I found would shine some light on my crusade of my search for immortality and eternal youth.

I must say that I found Greece breathtaking, and that at some point even considered making it my permanent residence, but alas! Nothing has really been permanent in my life and I felt that I was approaching the discovery of my own personal Holy Grail...

Egypt - Summer 1763

By Spike Clemenceau, 2010-05-05
After a dreadful stay with my uncle, who finally tired of my adventurous spirit and had me sent to a monastery, in which I started to grow an interest on Alchemy and the Occult, while spending many hours reading at the Monastery's library. After exhausting all of the reading material I could find of interest, I decided to leave the monastery and travel to Palermo, where I made acquaintance with several Alchemists. The practical knowledge I gained in Palermo proved to be interesting at first, but it grew dull and insufficient after a while.

I was advised to travel to Egypt by my friend in Palermo, Monsieur Marano, who is my opinion one of the most able alchemists I met in Italy. I continued with my studies on alchemy and medicine, but what I was really curious about was the secret to youth and immortality, which was revealed to me by some Masons I met while in Egypt.

Egypt was interesting, but I limited my visits to the sites and temples to the night time, since I have always found being tanned and rouge horrid, to anyone's complexion, specially that of a Comte such as myself. After having gained all the knowledge I could in Egypt, I decided to visit several other contries such as Greece, Persia, Rhodes, India and Ethiopia, studying the occult and alchemical knowledge I found I found in those countries, while searching for the secret of eternal youth and immortality to no avail...
