The Choral of the Sheep
With the planned migration of our farming endeavours, from the set-up in the forests of Antiquity to the campagna of our beloved home-island Rocca Sorrentina, I came to the realization that our Suffolk sheep might not be very happy in that much warmer and dryer climate. After conferring with my Scottish friend, the Laird of Kerrera, who is very knowledgeable about livestock; I decided to obtain some Merinos. They are very different, but cheerful creatures, and their beige looks will blend in beautifully with the golden light of the Mediterranea.
And so it has been done. Today's biggest enterprise was the corraling of the sheep: the exchange of the current with the new arrivals. The ram Baaaldassare, and the ewes Neva and Bellata - are now waiting for their transport to a climate more suitable, and pastures even greener. I decided to gift them to the Lochmore estate on Kerrera, where from time to time I shall greet them and see if they still remember the Italian they heard in their early days on my farm Delizi'azzurro. The new sheep are not named yet, but this will be done soon enough. For now they have full attention from Lattezia, who keeps wandering over to them. The hens, however, couldn't care less. Stella Scagazzi has nestled herself on the hayfeeder and mostly just stares at them with slight disdain.
A busy day with lots of bleating, the song of sheep could be heard from afar. The AES-farming is really taking off onto advanced levels now.
