Interlude: The Escape 8 - Falling...
It wasn't long after I boarded my ship that the first drops of rain began to fall. I was indeed lucky to find the ships before the rains hit. One can only guess how I would have weathered the elements in a tiny lifeboat. First one drop of rain, then two.... before we knew it, the two sister ships were enveloped in a flash tropical storm. Some of the resourceful crew members put out empty rum barrels to catch some of the fresh water, while others scurried below decks to take shelter from the oncoming bombardment. I myself stayed topside and raised my eyes to the sky, welcoming the cleansing water... for it washed from me the blood of my injuries, the sweat of of my endless rowing, and my captivity which was now put to rest behind me as of this very moment in time....
So glad the rain was refreshing! I'm guessing there's no surgeon aboard so I hope your wounds are tended the right way.
Great shot Captain
Seawater is nature's miracle healer for such wounds ... the perfect followup to your cleansing shower, dear Captain. So relieved to hear you are safe and free once again!
