Duché de Coeur Role-Play The Duch de Coeur is a friendly and romantic land inspired by historical France during The Age of Enlightenment (17th-19th centuries).

The Social Class structure resembles that of pre-revolutionary France with a few liberties taken in order to enhance the role play experience and make it enjoyable for everyone.

It is interesting to note that during this time the Nobility made up approximately 2% of the total population and so members of the Peasant & Bourgeoisie classes where much more likely to be encountered. Put another way, if you were born during this time being a noble "by birth" was highly unlikely :)) Nobility in the Duchy must therefore be earned, no matter what social class you are born to. Even those born to Nobility must earn their titles along with the rest of the players. See Duch de Coeur - Court Etiquette, Rules & Titles for more infomation concerning titles.

If you have decided to use the RPS system you can begin your role play adventure by picking the Social Class you where born to. Each class comes with distinct advantages that will continue to aid you throughout the life of your character. Please note that advantages are distributed equally for each social class freeing you to pick a class depending on the activities that most interest you.

Peasants

Characters born as PEASANTSstart witha PHYSICAL advantage (Athletic) .
This will aid them as farmers, athletes, soldiers, pirates, thieves etc.

Bourgeoisie

Characters born as BOURGEOISIEstart with aMENTAL advantage (Mystic).
This will aid them as brewers, bakers, merchants, healers, scientists etc.

Nobels

Characters born as NOBLESstart witha SOCIAL advantage (Glib) .
This will aid them as artists, merchants, politicians, lawyers etc.

For more information regarding careers see: Duch de Coeur - Careers

No matter what your Social Class is at birth or the titles that you earn, players are encouraged to try all activites that interest them. A Duchesse should not be afraid to dig in the dirt, after all Marie Antoinette did enjoy her hamlet making it one of the very first examples of micro-farming!
