It is 1792 and war has broken out with the revolutionary forces of France. Sardinia's commanders are inept, but the fighting men are fierce and are able to push the French back across the alps. His Majesty King Vittorio Amedeo III is informed of the dangers and directs his chief of staff to make sure his children are safely out of danger (SL time 8 May 2009, 23 hours).
