t Apples for Santa Lucia
On the feast of St Lucy, 13 December, Mons. Federico Giovanelli, Patriarch of Venice, brought gifts to the children in Melioria. After distributing scarves, coats and shoes, Mons. Giovanelli asked me (Fiorino) to distribute the fresh apples to the others. Rico from Monselice said these were the best apples he had ever eaten (Pictured L-R: Mons.
