Bravo Fio - you did a job well done and used all your skills. as you say "hard learned". I, familiar with the usually peaceful canals of Venice, would never have guessed the gondola would be useful in my waters esp. near the treacherous cliffs you mentioned. But you have proved they are more than adequate. I have an idea that your skills might be put to use down in the port. We have all these visitors arriving and some even sans servants. It is a long trek from the wharf in the Old Quarter to the New Quarter near the Casino. And many bring large trunks. Perhaps I could set you and your skills up in a small business ferrying the visitors to their destinations or even to just languidly see the sites from your gondola. Come to the Villa and tell the servants that you have come to see the Principe on his invitation. If Cece gives you trouble say you have come about an urgent sensitive personal business matter that you are only to discuss with Sua Altezza.
