Thanks, Marie Louise!
Fashion and/or Art are definitely possibilities.
I thought about Architecture as well & actually had a prototype group set up but then wasn't sure about it.
I'm thinking we might want to keep SL-oriented stuff incorporated in the Main Page via Categories in the Forums & Blogs but I could be persuaded otherwise. Sometimes it's hard to know until you actually try it out.
Would you be interested in helping to run one of the Special Interest groups?
Hello Everyone
One of the best things about Ning 3.0 is the powerful new Group features;a 3.0 Group is really a mini-site all of its own!
I've been bending my brain to think of ways to take advantage of this and one thing I thought we could try was the introduction of Special Interest groups.
As an example, I have set up a prototype Book Lovers group. It doesn't have much content yet but hopefully there's enough to give a general idea. Take a look and see what you think.
I'm looking for suggestions for other Special Interest groupsand volunteers that would be willing to help manage them.
I'm thinking that thebest Special Interest groups would be those that appeal to quite a few membersand aren't already covered with our Discussions & Blogs. Food? Art? Fitness?
What else do you think this community would be interested in that would make a great Special Interest group?
Thanks!!

Thanks for the information, Jacon.
And of course, thank you Twelfth for the great original post
Thank you, Aldo & Alessandra
All the fall colours are out in the Duch now so it's a nice time to take a look around.
We're working on more historical posts and probably will be for quite a while. As I said, it's a nice excuse to do the research & write a bit about it. Right now I'm wrestling with Margaret of Austria, now that was one Renaissance woman with connections!!
Thanks for the kind words and positive response, ladies
The Duch carriage system does maketravelling between the various information pointsmuch more enjoyable. I've been using this tour as an excuse just to ride around and see what's new. With the new fall colours coming up soon there will bebrand new scenes to admire.
Your right, Jane, there is a lot of history in the Coeurs and even I tend to take it for granted. For example, I knew the canal had something to do with da Vinci but I never could remember exactly what. Now I can refer to Bedrich's article and sort it all out. What could be better for a history geek )
We've always loved history in the Duch de Coeur, so much so that sometimes I think that Second Life is just an excuse for us toindulge inmore research
In any case, we've really had renaissance on the brain a lot lately, what with the rebirth of Languedoc Coeur and the participation of the Bibliothque de Coeur in the multi-grid Renaissance Faire, so we jumped at the chance to expand our horizons from The Age of Enlightenment back to our French Renaissance roots.
Signs have started popping up all over the Duch with the fruits of our research labours!
Each sign provides a direct link to our new-found information and there's also a little gift at each location to help sweeten thestudying
For those of you that know the Duch well, you may be able to suss out these locations by just looking at the pictures (hint - many of them are placed next to relevant SL re-creations).
My recommendation is to start at the Bibliothque and take a Duch carriage to the various spots.Selecting Renaissance from the carriage menu will narrow down your choices. There are also a few selections that lead you directly to gifts (no reading required ).
I'll keep you posted as we add on to our collection.
In the meantime, have fun and if you have any questions just shout!!
I think this is an excellent idea, Sophia. Looking forward to seeing more
Wow, you have been busy!
Everything looks great and I agree with you about the joy of creating. It's the best reward
LOL
I don't think a movie is out yet, Jane, but just think of all the different languages this must have been translated into. Perhaps you could start out with something in Mandarin?
