Although I am still looking for a mesh single plant form that gives me the effect I really want, I'm very excited about what's possible in combining mesh faces and texture change scripts, primarily in the garden although obviously there are so many uses. I LOVE your idea with changing the label when changing the herb. I also wish we could smell the lovely scents of our gardens in SL ... but then there are so many things we must be grateful we do not smell! 
Really loving all your mesh inspiration, hope there's more to come!
