Embracing Autumn, Romancing Winter

Marketplace Archive ** CLOSED **

Calling all designers! With the help of SL fashion model Eliza Mint, I am coordinating a fashion show to feature men's and women's 18th century clothing. Scheduled date: August 28th approximately 2 or 3 pm SLT.

At this time, we are drafting to present one day dress and one court dress from each participating designer. When we get a final number of designers, we may be able to accommodate more outfits. Suggested colors: warm earth tones for fall and winter. heavier fabrics, rich. gold. red. bronze. copper. black. silver. sapphire Please hold all clothing until we are closer to the date of the event.

Each designer should submit one day dress and one court dress of their choice accompanied by a write up of each (what you want the announcer to read.) ALSO must submit a texture image of your gown labelled day or court with your name and the dress name. This will assist us in working up our line. All items subject to approval. Textures & info should be submitted ASAP but many people are making new dresses, so whenever you are able but at least two weeks before the show.

We also could use some jewelery designers and some wig makers to dress up the gowns and to more closely represent the vast array of wigs that we produce.

We are taking care of securing the venue, model casting call, all rehearsals, securing a dj and an announcer, scripts, and advertising. Designers need only to get us their information for their outfits along with the outfits and then just show up and relax.

Our goal in holding this show is to not only feature the designers of 18th century SL and allow their colleagues to appreciate their work, but also, to hopefully attract some more interested people to our sims.

I have tried to contact everyone, but I am certain I missed a few people. If you would like to take part in the show, please contact me. If you have ideas or would like to help, feel free to contact me. I should have a rough sketch of the event out to all designers by the end of next week.

Content Rating & OOC vs IC

General Discussion

When I first came to RC, it was a bit of a challenge to figure out what belonged, as there were/ are so many varied discussions. I think its a good idea to have an OOC & IC section. I don't have any problems with any of the content so far but it might allow people to have the option of avoiding content that they don't want to spend their time slogging through. They would still have to scroll over the OOC section with one eye open to avoid seeing things like a talking animal or chicks in bikinis, but it wouldn't be mixed in with IC stuff, which seems to be part of the irritation. People will grumble about anything but we have to be extra tolerant here instead of feeling enabled to act in excess or as a cyberbully. It takes a lot of work to throw a bunch of strangers together and have them all work together, let alone have them all get along...

:) Just my two cents

Rental Etiquette and Supporting Your Community in Second Life

General Discussion

My family has a rental business. This is how we handle tenants who do not pay their rent on time: in the contract it clearly states that the tenant will be assessed a late fee if the rent is not paid on time. (We typically give a 24 hour grace period.) The amount is usually 5% of their total rent and due immediately. (This could be modified to suit your specifics.) After receiving a penalty, the tenants usually always pay on time therafter :)

[M] A new gown, eeks eeks!

Marketplace Archive ** CLOSED **

I cannot see the picture... but I am sad that the wide gowns are no longer 'fashionable.'

I prefer and enjoy wearing the wider gowns. I may have to move to differnt rp period :)

O Tesso Casa Comercial Real de Lisboa - Trading in second-hand Court goods

Marketplace Archive ** CLOSED **

I'm wondering... if its frowned on to resell, what about a dress swap? Swap a day dress for another day dress? Maybe, to partake in the swap, participants have to register and pay a fee of 100 L.... the 100 L would be donated to the host of whichever historical sim volunteers to host the swap that month. We could set up a round-robin style ring and we could have a swap once a month?

So if say, the kingdom of the Lorax hosted the swap, all of the registration fees would go directly to the costs of that sim ie., land rental or whatever.
