I believe the Ning had an article not long ago about a gourd with the blood of Louis XVI inside it, well now there seems to be a cloth that is to be auctioned off.
Interesting, although somewhat gruesome, article. I can't imagine being present and taking a keepsake like this, but again, it was commonplace it seems.

This is amazing Sophia .... what a great story .... and the photos are incredible. I'm surprised it's in the 'good condition' that the pictures show as the rats and the insects were given 'run of the house' so to speak. It's wonderful that they didn't do that much damage. That one fireplace with the blue and yellow tile around the opening is gorgeous )
The Death of Queen Victoria, 112 years ago today
History
Today is the anniversary of the death of Queen Victoria on January 22, 1901. The link above offers some information on her last hours. I found it an interesting read and I hope you do as well. She was and is a fascinating monarch and woman to this day.
