Of course, taverns have the advantage of being imbued with strong spirits.

I explored the sim briefly when I visited to obtain the gown. The atmosphere is wonderful.
Yes, this is a temptation to which I will succumb!
This is the final week of the special sale on Qing Dynasty painting, under way on the upper floor of Les Arts de Saint-Bruno, Mont Saint Bruno, Antiquity Heights. The special Qing Dynasty art sale began in June, in association with the Silk Road Hunt. Chinese art and artisanerie were much in vogue throughout the 18th and 19th centuries; a trifle of chinoiserie was considered good form, at times even de rigeur, in any cultured establishment.
Next week the shop will begin a sale of Renaissance art in preparation for the Renaissance Hunt.

Not having a suitable mourning gown, I took advantage of your sale last night, and I also sent my alt (who is on a tighter budget than I am, poor girl) to take advantage of the free gifts. I found it difficult to choose which of the two black silks I should purchase, but finally settled on the one with the veil - so genteel, and such elegance in the pleating on the skirt.
I will have to visit again.
I think we can forgive you for "The Tatiana Show" effect - if you're doing the work, you deserve to be showcased in the process, Dragonslayer!
The collars and ruching on the spensers are quite adorable, and I can see that getting onto the horse will be easier in the empire skirt than in the rococco ones I've been using when fox-hunting. And of course, they have the other advantage over the rococco style of allowing one to breathe while one is taking exercise, which must be useful when trying to control one's horse.
My alt will be visiting you shortly; the gold and green is perfect for her colouring, and her typist has no power of resistance to the lure of a fine texture.
Now this is tempting. I would love to have a portrait of my lord and myself; I will do my best to convince him.
The major issue is actually computer capacity. Outside of the hard sciences and technical specializations, student-access computers tend not to have heavy-duty graphics capacity, and neither do some staff-access computers (my office iMac can handle SL if I don't go into any crowd scenes, but doesn't like it!) In the distance context, students rely on their personal computers, and although the Blackboard distance course framework can be handled by pretty well everything, SL graphics are another matter. We can't require students to upgrade just for SL purposes when SL isn't necessary for competent distance course design. The discount will be welcome news to a a few departments, though, and I can keep chipping away at relevant corners of my own.
