One afternoon at Dinner, the Marquis had some news to assure the Mademoiselle, they had been anxious, since the talk of dowry, had pushed their family apart. Servants reported that the Comte de Chiverny and the Marquise de Chatellerau, were at odds, disagreeing over everything. Earlier that day, the Marquise rang for her nephew, and sent him from the room a happy soul. Later that night, over a lavish dinner, the Marquis de Saint-Ceneri, announced to his love interest...that the Mademoiselle de Plougastel, Gabrielle de Chiverny, would soon become the next Marquise de Saint-Ceneri.
With the dowry set, all that is needed, is an audience with the king, and his permission! However, the Marquis seems to be missing his chance, over and over, to speak to meet the king...is someone purposely keeping him at an arm's length?
