This was a complete surprise to Bedrich. Although he completed the course, he also knew (or though he knew) where the challenges might lie. In fact, he had his own set of disasters along the way. The corner at AC/ACS/PC changed the behavior of his boat. As a consequence, he sailed on the wrong side of Isla Pequena, having to "reset" the sails and return to the original turn. In reality, Quecay was the true winner of the race in that she learned the course and its challenges, spending the days leading up to the race to ensure she would not be caught off-guard.
