Wishing Everyone the Happiest of Holidays with a Wonderful New Year to Follow!
Please see the updated opening post for January 11, 2015. Thanks!
You're very welcome, Leena.
Being intimately familiar with IT project delivery schedules & their pitfall I'm really not surprised at the delay but that doesn't keep me from being impatient.
I wish they would hurry up!!!

Hello Everyone
Ning is making progress on 3.0 and has started a limited migration process. Unfortunately they are still missing both Events & Videos which means that we are still in a holding pattern.
On a positive note, some of their recent additions/updates will make for a better site experience & I'm really looking forward to the day that we can switch over.
Thanks!

Hello Everyone
As you can see, over a year has passed since the last update. Sadly, Ning has made no progress on the outstanding functions that we need for Royal Courts. This includes Events which I believe is critical to our operations.
Many Network Creators have given up and are now moving to other platforms. I'm going to investigate this a bit and see if this is feasible for us. I want to have some information and a bit of a plan just in case Ning decides to close shop altogether.
On the bright side, there does appear to be some alternatives that will allow us to migrate all (or most) of our current content.
Thanks!

Hello Everyone
It's been a while since my last report on moving to Ning 3.0. As you may recall, Ning had planned to have early migration tools out by the end of October and from that I was guestimating that we would be able to move sometime in December.
Well, as typically happens with a lot of software development, Ning missed their target date for the migration software and then went silent. As you can imagine there are many Network Creators fuming about the delay & lack of communication. And you thought LL was the only company to face these problems
Anyway, today Ning came out with Migrating to Ning 3.0 Status Update which includes:
Since our last update , the engineering team working behind the scenes on the migration process has made serious advances. We currently support migrating the following elements of 2.0 networks, with more to come as we continue to make progress:
I'm glad to see that they are moving along but you will notice that they haven't tackled Events or Videos as of yet. From what I can gather these will be added sometime"in the new year".
Since these are important features for our community we are going to have to wait a while longer. I'll keep you updated as I find out more.
Please note that we are not accepting new members on The Royal Courts 3.0 (beta) site .
When the migration tools are complete all of our current members & their content will be transferred automatically. I'm really looking forward to that
Any questions, just give me a shout!
Very enjoyable, Aldo!
We've gone through numerous rolls of parchment and burn many candles during the planning process now comes the physical labour. I think I'll have to buy myself a new pair of boots to keep my feet dry while I'm dredging the harbour
Hehe ... Joan - Bedrich is actually working on a ferry with a system similar to the carriages that will take you through the waterways.
He did mention that he was looking at the ability to load merchandise so your wish may actually come true!
Thanks everyone! We're all very excited about this
The new configuration will be added to the south of Provence Coeur Est2. The first sailable region Provence Coeur Sud2 is already in place. The second sailable region will be added to the south of that and then Rocca Sorrentina will be to the south of that. You will be able to sail in a direct line between Rocca Sorrentina and the Duch.
We are also changing the shoreline of Provence Coeur Est2 and Provence Coeur Estto provide better access to the existing Duch waterways.

Through the goodwill of our communities, the magic of Second Life andthe addition of two, brand-new, sailable regions, the Duch de Coeur and Rocca Sorrentina are forming a closer connection. This new configuration will allowfortravel between the two realms by sea or air (for those brave enough to venture out in a hot air balloon) while discovering the delights of our respective nations en route.
As you can imagine, there's a lot to do and work hasjust begun with the addition of Provence Coeur Sud2. We're going to be very busy dredging harbours, forming islandsand attending to all the little details that will make this awonderful, newdestination.
As for the communities themselves; ownership, management and administration will remain the same as they've always been and we look forward to the closer ties that our physical proximity and shared vision will bring to us all.
We hope you will stay tuned for all the exciting developments as they unfold.
Aldo, Bedrich, Sere, Skye & Tatiana.
They're beautiful, Quecay! Think I'll have to get one (or two) for myself
