Languedoc Coeur Renaissance

Communty News & Events

Languedoc Coeur has been cleared of all debris. Barges lined the canals waiting to haul timber away from the devastated area. Dredging operations deposited blocks, rocks, and mud to form two islands, extend the Provence shoreline, andform a land mass where the future Languedoc Waterfront will be located.

See Languedoc Coeur Cleanup Operations for more information.

I've never been a prodigious poster. Perhaps it's because I really like to ponder overmy posts beforeI actually write them. Perhaps it's because there are just so many hours in the day and I'm not the quickest scribe in the west. Whatever the reasons, I knewthat havingtwo blogs wasapt to complicate my life and make my blogging frequency appear even more sporadic than it actually was. I went ahead and created them both anyway.

Relief Aid Extended

Communty News & Events

This offer of aid fromour good friends and neighbours certainly lifts our spirits!

Weare indeedfortunate to belong to a larger community that does not hesitate to lend a hand where needed.

We are also fortunate that we had enough prior warning so that all residents (including the four legged ones) made it to safety. I believe the only injurieswhich may have occurred were to the storm chasers and these were only minor in nature.

It was quite a task moving all the precious volumes from the Bibliotheque de Coeur (library) but book-lovers know no bounds when it comes to preserving their treasures. The merchants were also quick in making their way to new shops in Aquitaine and Provence.

A bit of sunshine is starting to peep out of the clouds and the real clean-up effort can begin today in earnest.

And speaking of sunshine, after this kind invitation, I'mplanning to take full advantage of the warmth of Rocca Sorrentina to balance out my own relief work efforts. I can already feel my cares melting away just thinking about it ...

I'm daring to hope that the worst is now over, Contessa.

I believe that Aquitaine and Provence have been spared.

In an ironic twist, it looks like the Tavern in Languedoc is the only building left standing. Have tolove those sturdy stone walls!

Rain Subsides, Lightning Continues

The rain from the Languedoc Coeur storm has finally eased, but the lightning continues to strike with a vengeance. Mudslides continue in various areas with the sediment then being washed out to sea.

The gates at the west and south ends of the canal were opened today after the storm surge abated.

No need to worry, Quecay.

I've been casting my strongest protection spells over Provence Coeur and though we might get some debris floating up on the shoreline I'm certain it's going to come out of this unscathed.

When the storm finally moves on, I'm thinking we're going to have a fantastic ocean view :))

Devastation Strikes Languedoc Coeur East Coast

Communty News & Events

It is a rather bitter-sweet moment in the history of the Coeurs.

I was a bit teary-eyed myself as I dragged Flat Rod to all my favourite Languedoc haunts to take one last picture.

On the bright side, the sun will come out soon to reveal a wonderful new configuration that retains all of the most important elements of the Duch :)
