[AoR] There's a new NPC in Town

News & Events

AoR Helene.png

In order to tidy up the Queen's Hamlet Market area and make more space for merchants to sell their wares, Myriam has trained a merchant assistant, Helene.  Rather than buying Harvesters (e.g., plants), Crafters (e.g., tools for cooking and wells), and Tools (e.g., personal vendors, labelling tools, and HUDs + Meters) from separate AoR vendors, stroll over to the spot where you used to buy these things and talk to Helene.  Her prices are the same as those you are used to paying for the items she sells. You'll notice that a few of the newer AoR items are still for sale individually at her booth.

Please note that there is a 30 second delay from the time Helene sends the item to the time she is ready for a new request.  Imagine her running to the stock room and running back (actually it's a LL imposed throttle to prevent spamming).

Here is Helene's current price list for the things she sells:

HARVESTERS:
Carrot patch c: 50 coins/unit
Compost bin c: 50 coins/unit
Hen 01 c: 50 coins/unit

TTR-Eugenies Jewellery Case REDUX

House & Garden

Eugenies Jewellery Case MP 01.png

UPDATED TO MESH - October 2021 - Same beautiful furniture with much lower land impact!

This exquisitely detailed jewellery case was designed circa 1855 for Eugénie, last Empress consort of France. The Empress, as you can imagine, had an extensive collection of breathtaking jewellery and this case was the perfect place to store some of it!

In a wonderful example of marquetry, delicate flowers are brought to life with inlaid porcelain & violet wood on a mahogany case. Bronze gilt cherubs provide additional decoration.

The two front doors open to reveal the various sized drawers.

This luxurious piece is equally at home in an old world chateau or modern apartment.

See it inworld at the  Petit Trianon or see the SLM listing.

================

I'm delighted to be offering this updated version of Eugenie's Jewellery Case.  Besides reducing the land impact (it's now just 2) I've also made the switch from "Modify/Transfer" to "Modify/Copy" so you can now use it as many times as you please.

For those of you that have an older version purchased inworld, send it to me and I'll give you the updated mesh version.  For those of you that have an older version purchased via the SLM you can now get an automatic update.

Cheers!

Tat

I'm currently investigating barrel making for the new Cooper skill.

Barrel on Wikipedia is worth a look.

How oak barrels are made gives you an excellent idea of the process though they use modern equipment.

How a wooden barrel is made is also interesting especially the difference between American and French oak.

[AoR] News ~ October 23, 2021

News & Events

October certainly has been a busy month with the introduction of new skills and their associated harvesters & crafters.  In addition to those items already mentioned in News & Events here are some of the highlights.

For the Gardner

Two new harvesters, a Lavender Plant and an Herb Pot, are currently for sale in the market.  Check out the Modify option (right-click, Manage, Modify) which will allow you to control the look of the pot as well as changing the size and toggling the visibility.

The Lavender Plant can be harvested in 24 hours and gives a bunch of fresh lavender an essential ingredient in Lavender Oil made in the Alembic and used to make Lavender Scented Candles.

The Herb Pot can be harvested in 12 hours and will grow a variety of herbs.  Currently there is Rosemary (used in the new Roast Chicken made with the Cast Iron Roaster) and Peppermint.

For the Apothecary

A new Herb Dryer has been introduced for the preservation of fresh herbs.  Both Tea leaves and Peppermint can be dried then used to make tea in the new Kettle.  Other dried herbs will be added as required.

For the Cook

There's a new Kettle for sale in the market.  Tea, which was previously made on the Stove, is one of the drink options.  New drinks include Orange Tea, Apple Tea (made with Apple Brandy) and herbal Peppermint Tea.

For the Vintner

Speaking of drinks, three new varieties of level two grapes have just been introduced:

  • Aglianico produces a full-bodied red wine exclusive to Campania.
  • Cinsault produces savory rosé wine exclusive to Provence.
  • Raboso produces a dry red wine exclusive to Venezia.

Along with the new Apple Brandy these are sure to add to our holiday cheer!
