Trade Network?

General Discussion

Thanks for starting this conversation, Comtesse.  I'll pass on a notice to the QH Co-op group so that individuals may comment.

Speaking for the group as a whole, we don't have regular times where we congregate.  There's usually a few of us online at any given time of the day (though our avatars may be napping while the typist is pursuing RL activities).

You could always ask at the G&S Market Forum if you are looking for something specific or check out our inworld Market

Would you please post a SLurl for the Magritte Market?

Thanks!

Who burned the witches?

History

When you think about it, this makes perfect sense:

Witch hunts were a collaboration between lower-level authorities and commonfolk succumbing to garden-variety pettiness, vindictiveness, superstition and hysteria. Seen that way, it's a pattern that recurs over and over again in various forms throughout human history, whether or not an evil international church or a ruthless patriarchy is involved, in places as different as Seattle and Rwanda.

Who burned the witches?

History

This is interesting!

For years, feminist scholars have argued that witch hunts were inspired by a reactionary, misogynistic church. But new scholarship, like Lyndal Roper’s “Witch Craze,” reveals that the real villains were the neighbors.

Definitely a case of "never say never"; I am now raising pigs (tarsks).

Having embraced my role as a butcher I promptly set out to produce bacon.  Did you know that bacon can only be made from pig meat?  Here I sit on an ever expanding mountain of goat (verr) meat and I cannot make bacon.  Heavy sigh ...

On the bright side, this gave me an opportunity to learn all about tarsks.  They come in three sizes (dwarf, common & giant) and common females are REALLY hard to find in the usual markets.  After much searching I came up with this pair, a brown sow and a spotted boar.  Their offspring won't be purebreds but what the heck, they were never going to win any beauty contests anyway.

I also learned how to make Tarsk Feeders which require two portions of verr meat so at least I'm recycling some of my mountain in my quest for bacon.  Chocolate covered bacon here we come ...

Actually I'm growing quite fond of this pair and have been considering naming them.  They have quite a long life expectancy so may be around for the next two months.  Suggestions for names are welcome! :)

Fisher of the Month Challenge

QH Challenges

Had a busy morning of chores (many baby goats to be birthed) and baking (who can resist that chocolate!) so I didn't get fishing until late afternoon.  Tried out the Green Valley Farm  which was surprisingly snowy with not much green at all.  Go figure!  They do give out lovely gifts including free bait AND a Fishing Mat that lets you load different food items for cooking.  It also includes a seat and spots for snacks and bait.  Quite a lovely idea :)

Today's tally:  Eel (), Lobster (), Oyster (1), Salmon (1), Seaweed (), Tuna (4), Fish (28)

Overall tally:  Eel (3), Lobster (5), Oyster (2), Salmon (3), Seaweed (4), Tuna (20), Fish (128)

Month's Points: 37
