QH: Building The Farm

QH Discussions

We survived the  seismic shift of Provence Coeur!  Though the land is still experiencing the occasional tremor, it appears to be stable enough to allow for the building of The Farm.  Woohoo!!  I couldn't be more excited :)

Here's the  landmark.

Please feel free to drop by; wear your boots and a good hard hat in case of falling debris.

Una Lunaqat:

So exciting!  Every day is a new little adventure, seeing what's happening today. :)

It really is!  As an added bonus you get to hear me exclaiming when I rez a house on top of myself, fall into the river or dig an inadvertent swimming pool in someone's front yard.  Good times :)

A new adventure! I'm excited too :) )

I'm glad, Bebe!  Your store looks grand in its new location :)

For those that haven't met her yet, Bebe is the creative force behind Casa de Bebe, the anchor store in the Jardin Francais.

Provence Coeur is moving!

The grande dame of the Duché is being reinvigorated with a new look and a new location.  After almost eleven years, the old girl is looking forward to her new connections SOUTH of Provence Coeur Est, BETWEEN Aquitaine Coeur and Provence Coeur Sud2.

Skye and I are very excited about this change.  The Shared Seas will be expanded making the sail to Rocca Sorrentina even more of an adventure.  New carriage/road routes will be established between the Provence & Aquitaine regions strengthening the heart of the Duché de Coeur.

Best of all (from my perspective) The Queen's Hamlet will be expanded to include The Farm!  This has always been a SL dream of mine and after 10 years it's actually going to happen.  I'm really looking forward to more land for our QH Co-op roleplay.  The blacksmith shop and carpentry station will be moving in as will the QH Co-op Market.  I'm sure the goats will be happy with the extra space as well ;)

The Provence Merchants, formerly located in Provence Coeur, have relocated to the Jardin Francais in Provence Coeur Est2.  They've been busy setting up their new shops and the area already looks fabulous.  I encourage you all to drop by and lend your support as they reestablish themselves.  Many thanks to them for their energy & enthusiasm during this transition.

Fingers crossed that LL makes the move soon.  I'm itching to get started!

QH Wine Making 3.0: Getting Started

QH Resources & Guides

I couldn't be more excited about the new G&S 3.0 Wine Making system!  Truth be told, reading the G&S instructions for the first time made my head ache but once the initial fog lifted I realized that the complexity would add a wonderful richness to our active roleplay.

The following information is intended for QH Co-op members who would like to skip over all the details and get started right away.  The official documentation is here .

Vineyards

According to the new terminology an individual "vineyard" is what we are use to calling a field.  A vineyard grows one particular type of grape and Members will be allotted vineyard(s) that have already been seeded with a specific type of their choosing.

Water: Each vineyard requires 2 buckets of water a day (a barrel every 5 days).  We will be using the Riders Auto Feeding System to deliver the barrels.  Each member is responsible for obtaining the necessary number of water barrels for their vineyard(s) and placing them in their Harvest Boxes.  Tat will then transfer the barrels from the Harvest Boxes to the Feeding System.

Care: Click on the vineyard to perform the "care" function.  This should be done on a regular basis as care speeds growth and increases quantity (but strangely enough not quality).

A vineyard will process up to a maximum of 300% and if it is well cared for it delivers a maximum of 3 crops in 12 days.

Harvest:  You must use a G&S basket and select "Take Crop - Fill Container".

Co-op Fees : Two crops of grapes in a basket(s) per month.

Official Vineyard documentation is here.

Winepress

You're going to need an empty G&S barrel . Use the new 3.0 Winepress Menu Option "Fill" with the barrel.  This is the only way to maintain the additional flavours of the wine.

Official Winepress documentation is here.

Fermentation

If you would like to retain the "Appellation of Origin" the barrel must be store in the Queen's Hamlet until the wine is mature.  Space has been reserved for each winemaker to house their barrels in winery.  Contact Tatiana if you need a spot.

Summary

You will need G&S Baskets & Barrels.  Contact Tat to acquire a vineyard. Collect your water and deliver it to Tat via your Harvest Box.  Provide care on a regular basis.  Pay your Co-op fees monthly.

Whew!  That's a quick start.  Hope this helps you a bit on your wine making journey.  Detailed information will follow and please feel free to ask questions!!

She had that brand of pragmatism ...

I'm back!

Having survived a rather tumultuous year I'm delighted to be returning to my old pesky/creative SL self.  Barring any other life-altering events, I plan to be frequenting Inworld and this Living History VW site on a more regular basis.

I've already swept out the old chicken coops, bought new goats, and started plotting for the Queen's Hamlet Co-op's domination of the G&S wine world.  Not exactly brewing tea after Armageddon, but close enough.  So much fun to be had!

Hope this finds you all well and enjoying all the wonders of the fall season.

Tat
