Oh my, another system to learn all about! Bessie Hull looks forward to the challenge.

Hoo Boy! Queen of the Ashes. This one has been divisive in the fanbase!
You could create artificial needs by setting challenges again. I seem to recall the challenges and trophies were successful in getting people to try new skills. It got me into blacksmithing and fishing, or one!
There's also bragging rights. If you manage to make something from scratch that was very difficult, we could take a picture and share it to the group, with a challenge for someone else to top it.
Like Louis Francis de Beauharnois said, achievements can be a motivation.
Just a bit of extemporaneous brainstorming.
I am interested, as the Hamlet has been the sim I spend almost all my time for over a year. I'd love to add rp to that.
It's almost always chowder for me. Fish is so plentiful and cheap!
If I'm feeling fancy, fish with stewed tomatoes. That's when I have 15 tomatoes from a large harvest and don't feel like making sauce for pizza.
The benefit of the Unity system seems to be that you can modify it as you like, adding recipes and ingredients. The materials you gather are stored in a pouch at your waist.
Now, the downsides. Looks like you have to be able to do a little building. And since the materials/ingredients are stored digitally in your pouch, you can't rezz them on the ground when cooking. For each one, you have to type the name of that item and the number you want to add. And to see what you have, you click the inventory button in the hud and it reads it out to you in open chat, in green text. It can be a bit cumbersome to check what you have, scrolling up and down to see if you even have everything you need.
Mansur has since implemented the Unity system for use in crafting and etc.
I'm willing to work on these recipes. Even the secret of the seas.
