Mrah the browser ate my reply to this . These are both EXCELLENT suggestions. Those of us who have been long at the court forget how long it took to learn all the niceties ... and in the Court of Versailles, or any part of French society from the upper middle class to the royal family, correct address was *essential* (and really still is - for example, when do you "tutoyer" - a concept that totally boggles the mind of an English-speaker since, in a sort of irony, the only Person we use the familiar form for is ... God! in old-fashioned-y speech - and I suspect most people actually think it's *more* formal ...)

Posting roles on the form ... now that's a thought ... hmmm ... hmmmmm ...

Next, explain, if there is a group of people, or RP going on, what to do. I see most people dont know that when they first come, and usually ends up being hurt :/

Yes, this is a good idea. More experienced players need to be alert to reaching out to visitors and newcomers, but they are not always there or, if in an intense bit of RP, able to conduct a discreet IM conversation with a questioner. It's always a good thing to reach out to someone who is obviously new or on the "outside" with a polite IM, once you have some experience and status (let's say to the point where you feel comfortable answering *most* questions - we *all* have questions at times!), asking if they are finding everything alright and offering to answer any questions. At the same time, one should be discreet and reticent in doing this, as many newcomers simply wish to observe and look around.

Alright, I am being facetious, but you would not believe - unless you have seriously RP'd there - the number of random (and not so random) people who will ask you that, the first or second thing they ask you. Not "What do you do here?" or "How do I join the RP?" or "I LOVE your dress!!!" (although one gets all of those, as well as much more interesting ones) but - well.

Actually, now that I think of it, a polite and politic response to "How do I get a title?" might be a good question to answer ... I am sure other questions will quickly come to mind and I'll add them. A very good idea!
