New release_ 18th century ballet costume

This dress represents an 18th century ballet dancer.

The growth of court luxury under Louis XIII and Louis XIV
provided the opportunity for ballet to grow in importance
and it became a favoured diversion. It was during the reign
of Louis XIV that ballet was first performed on the public stage.
Louis XIV created the most dazzling court in Europe and
refinements in dance was one of the many aspects of this.

Marie Camargo in the early 18th century was the first woman dancer
who dared tackle the problem that women faced with long skirts.
She shortened her skirts. Actually, not by very much--to just above the ankle.
Her audiences were shocked, but this enabled them to see and appreciate
the intricate footwork and dramatic complex jumps that she had developed.

This costume is made for lean avatars.

Events in the courts and time difference

General Discussion

I would kindly request to all courts that when organizing events would have in consideration the time difference between Europe and EUA, in order to most people be able to attend. Thank you. Ephe Luik

Ephemera Designs by Ephe Luik

Like fashion, costume designing is driven by passion, defined by precision and is an act of love.I believe that costume design works much like fashion, but adds its more about the character and mood than the look of the final piece.I work from a position that costume design is about finding what is right for the character or performer and what fits conceptually within the framework of the piece. A costume isnt just about looking good.I prefer textural fabrics those with the right amount of drape and weight. Love looking at older fabrics and also to use existing clothing, which I deconstruct and reinvent. I love old clothes because of the sense of history they embody and the stories they tell.Costume design is about visually helping move a story along, while fashion is based on the desire of the fashion designer to create an image that stands alone. My dresses are inspired by adventurours, but femenine women, that traveled, studyed and fell in love :)))Ephemera was created to dream.Soon Ill present a neo baroque bags collection in RL (to fit with jeans or more sophisticated clothes). Available on Flickr. Here, some brief words for those that enjoy wearing Ephemera , like Tatiana :))
