Mme Adélaïde hosted a late evening salon in her apartment. The music was provided by Mlle Isabeau d'Estrée and lady-in-waiting Vicomtesse de Trévien. The courtiers tried hard to keep composure in the stuffy room of closed shutters and dim candle light. Eventually, the effects gradually surfaced in HRH's worsening complexion, until she had to retire soon after. After finishing her duties, Vicomtesse saved them all by opening the windows to let in the cool summer breeze to fill the room!
