As far as scale goes, I did build this bigger than RL as I do with all my SL creations.
Building scale in SL is something that I've really studiedover the 4 years I've been here and I find it a most fascinating subject. If you would like to start a forum discussion about this I would love to participate as well has hear the views of others.

Doesn't a concert by lantern light sound heavenly!! Baharat and I have talked about hosting concerts in the pavilion, we're stilldeciding on just the right one especially now that it is officially open.
I have to say that I've never been so happy to release a product. This one holds a very special place in my heart!!
I haven't used food rezzers for quite a while but I sure had a lot of fun with them when I first came to SL. All those meal possibilities!!
The ones I haveare by Casandra Jackson who runs "Food at CAS".
One thing I've noticed with some of my tenants thathave usedtemp-rezzers is that the prims were actually counting toward the prim total (i.e. they weren't so "temp" after all) which was a concern. For that reason and becausesome temprezzers take up a lot of script time you have to be careful. Casandra's seem to be fine as they rez on demand and don't constantly keep re-rezzing.

I have an old computer that is apparently powered by an aging hamster 
This means that well attended events can be a problem for me (my hamster just can't keep up - lol).
What I usually do is set my Preferences-Graphics way down before attending. A low Draw Distance, in particular, really helps. I also try to get there ahead of the crowd and then just stand in the same spot.
I don't know if these tips will help you but it may beworth trying )
