Da Ca' Fandango
As usual, Lady Leena Fandango was a perfect hostess and invited everyone in Sorrentina to her lovely apartments for refreshments following the prayer service for victims of the yellow fever epidemic on our island. The topic of our discussions ranged widely but kept focusing on the pregnant young lady who took sick and is being cared for by nuns and doctors in the Lazaretto offshore. What sad circumstances!
A very nice picture, Aph. Also, sincere thanks to the lovely Lady Leena for her kind and gracious hospitality to us all.
Thank you for taking the photograph Aphrodite, and bringing the cake along!
It was wonderful to see everyone, even in such dark times as now.
Thank you Summer, I'm really glad you came
It was indeed a treat to enjoy the company of so many of Sorrentina's citizens. . . and to enjoy the delicious cake!
Tomorrow, we shall see if M. Gandt has anything to confess while he hosts a gathering in his apartments. Like wine, opium can loosen the tongue as quickly as it has been known to loosen the lacings of a corset.
It warms my heart to hear of all this outpouring of support and camaraderie whilst LaRocca is going through trying times ~
Such a busy social season! Perhaps we ought to have plagues more often?
