Signore e Signori,

We are pleased to announce that the management of the Coffee House in the Village of Melioria near the old Harbor has been taken on by a respectable scottish Lady, Signora Aphrodite MacBain. Beginning on the evening of April 26, the Coffee House will be open on a regular basis for the purposes of purveying the finest Coffees and Teas, and fostering the best sort of intellectual discourse (IC in the context of the year 1780) between thoughtful Ladies and Gentlemen of various stations in Life.

From that point forward until further notice, the regular hours for the Coffee House to be open for interaction will be every Thursday evening from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM SLT and every Saturday from 11:00 AM to Noon SLT.

The Coffee House is a respectable establishment modeled after the best aspects of the popular British Coffee Houses, but with a singular and key difference: It shall be organized and operated in the manner of the Coffee Houses in Genoa, Venezia, Vienna and certain other German states, so that both Gentlemen and Ladies are welcome to enter and partake of both the Coffees and light Meals which are offered, as well as to participate in the conversation.

Please also be aware that newspapers from many major Cities of Europe are brought to Melioria with great regularity by the variety of Ships which call at the Island for trade and to transport our visitors. Signora MacBain has made arrangements with the Masters of certain of these Vessels to obtain a supply of reasonably current periodicals for the enlightenment and edification of those who visit the Coffee House. 1604_discussions.png?width=750
