Duché de Coeur - New Adventures in Role Play!!

Communty News & Events

Duché de Coeur Role-Play The Duch de Coeur is a friendly and romantic land inspired by historical France during The Age of Enlightenment (17th-19th centuries). The Duch de Coeur has always had an emphasis on fun, friendship, romance & community building. Titles are given out on a "merit" system which means that anyone can move up the ranks by supporting & participating in the community. It also means that those people that are content to just drop in occassionally for fun are always welcomed. Work or play, role play or not, it's all good in the Duchy. For those people looking for a new and exciting challenge , we are now delighted to be extending our role play with the addition of the RPS role play system. Participants will be able to develop skills, strategize and pursue their chosen lives & careers within this exciting & vibrant environment. The addition of a RP Economy will also add to the fun as we work together to build our own unique version of the Duchy. While there is still work to do, I thought it was time to share some of the information that we are working on and ask for your comments & feedback .The Social Class Structure structure resembles that of pre-revolutionary France with a few liberties taken in order to enhance the role play experience and make it enjoyable for everyone.Of course this means Peasants, Bourgeoisie & Nobels are all welcome.

Peasants Bourgeoisie

Nobels

The merit system used for Titles is still in place, with the addition of RPS participation as a means to gain eligibility. See Duch de Coeur - Court Etiquette, Rules & Titles for more on this subject.A greater emphasis is now being placed on Careers . For all those that were secretly wishing for a career as a baker, doctor etc. the RPS opens up new avenues to acquire skills, interact with your fellow players and engage in a RP economy. If you have any comments, suggestions, concerns or questions please feel free to post them here. As always, Bedrich, Skye & I are available for those that would prefer more private communication.See Duch de Coeur - RP Statutes for our role play rules. The actual role play rules are still under development and will be posted soon. Finally, we will be looking for adventurous types that would be willing to become "early adopters" and help us beat the bugs out of our process. I must give you fair warning that Duc Bedrich was temporarily knocked unconsious when he attempted to fly across his property. Fortunately, as he was lying on the main transportation route, no carriages came by and he has since made a steady recovery. I hope that this doesn't discourage you, if you stick to the ground you should be just fine ;)

Forum Discussions vs Blogs: Guidelines

Site News & Guidelines

Hello Everyone

I thought it might be helpful to have some guidelines that would help you to decide when you should use a Forum Discussion and when you should use a Blog.

Traditionally Blogs are used for stories, dairies (musings), informative articles etc. In Character (IC) journals are most appropriate as are articles related to our historical timeframe. With this Ning format, Blogs cannot be categorized and so they appear in one long list.

Forums are used for everything else; they often invite discussion and are categorized to make it easier to find specific subjects in the wealth of communication. Advertising belongs in the Forums, particularly the Architecture, Property Rentals or Marketplace Categories.

When in doubt, use the Forums and for the sake of better communication please don't use both if you can't decide.

Thanks!

Tatiana

Social Announcements & Introductions

Welcome to the Royal Courts, Gabrielle. I do hope that you enjoy it here!Yes, I loved Copolla's film as well, though I must admit that I spent most of the time looking at the art, architecture etc. I really have to buy the DVD so that I see more of the story, though I'm pretty sure I remember how it ends ;) You're very luck to be visiting Paris soon (she says as she turns green with envy)! As far as stores go, you may find some leads in our Marketplace category. I'm sure that people would be happy to make recommendations as well. There certainly is a lot of creativity in this community.Have fun!
