ANNOUNCING a new Group in Royal Courts: The MCIR WHHQEWKRW

General Discussion

I hereby do declare my intention to create a new group in the Royal Courts. It will be called the MCIR WHHQEWKRW.

This is in no way a Welsh Court, as the name might infer.

This group will be opened to men only, on a special purpose according to present circumstances, and to offer them an oasis of tranquillity.

The developed name of the Group is " Male Courtiers In Revolt Who Have Heard QuiteEnough of the WILLIAM and KATE Royal Wedding".

I expect it to be a very successful group, I could even have a registration fee, it's worth it!

THE ROYAL WEDDING!

General Discussion

I accept the lesson and bend a knee, Madame:-) No matter how hard and how long we strive at being gentlemen, we men seem tooften give shelter to this little devil of cynicism, who, once in awhile, comes to the forefont:-)

Besides, attending the otherwise beautiful Versailles Opening last night, I heard worse words fromcertain persons ( certainly not you, I must say). But this is no excuse.

God Save The Queen!

THE ROYAL WEDDING!

General Discussion

I heard two billion people looked at the wedding, and methinks a much , much smaller number looked at the former Pope sanctification today...which, according to me, proves that most people dare to imagine themselves as a Princess or Prince, but very few intend to become a saint....

Dear Lady Sophia,

the fashion of small triangular silk -orNetherlands linen-mouchoirs or scarfs, covering Ladies shouldersand breast ( without hiding them completely, of course) began in France in 17th century, and lasted to a lesser extent throughout 18th century. It received the delicious ( in french) name of 'gorgerette', a diminutive of 'gorge',a name which was then in use for a woman's breast.

Phonetically, the word 'gorgerette' should be pronounced like a mixture of 'gorgeous' and ' right' ( very approximately) :-)))

Quote:

" C'est ton sein dont la gorgerette

me devoile la blanche chair..."

(Albert Glatigny)

Well, I was just surprised tovisualizethe Comtesse de Noailles, with her more than perfect bearing, raising her two thumbs up ( and winking?)

So unlady-like, so NOT you!

But I must admit I understood too late that in your mind it was intended to be the gesture of a Roman Empress....I will stop here, this is not the place to distract attention from the wonderful gowns of Sophia, especially for a matter of thumbs only:-)

Sorry, Madame, I should certainly have not have used the words ' lose your head' ( shivers in retrospect).

Ahem, let's rather say 'lose your mind'.
